Agathe David-Weill
founded Messenger Theatre Company with Emily
Davis and Shannon
Harvey whom she met in college. She produces all the plays developed
by Messenger. She attends to the financial, organizational and
mental well-being of the company and is learning to love the
theater more and more...
Agathe was
born and raised in Paris and came to the United States to go
to Sarah Lawrence College where she received a Bachelor of Arts
in Art History. She moved back to Paris to complete an Masters
Degree in History at the Sorbonne.
She was then
hired as the assistant to the Director of Development at Buena
Vista Motion Pictures Group in Los Angeles. During her three
years there, she worked on such projects as Enemy of The State,
Remember The Titans, O Brother, Where Art Thou? and The
Sixth Sense. After her experience in a studio environment,
Agathe decided to pursue her career in the world of independent
films. She moved to New York to work for Hart/Sharp Entertainment
as a development executive for European projects.
Two years ago,
she started her own film production company. She has produced
a number of short films including Talking Richard Wilson Blues directed
by Nicholas Twemlow, which was selected a part of the Tribeca
International Film festival and Dead Sexy, directed by
Jonathon Robinson. She is now working on a feature film, a romantic
comedy called Kettle of Fish.
